STONE TOWN TOUR
In this tour you will visit the main market, which opened in
1904. From there you will proceed to the Anglican Cathedral at Mkunazini built
by Bishop Streers in 1874 on the site of a former slave market. Next you will
visit the National Museum of Zanzibar. From there, you go to Forodhani Gardens,
where you will see the former British Consulate, the Old Fort built by the
Portuguese and House of Wonders known locally as ‘Beit-el-Ajaib’ built by
theSultan. After you will have a chance to walk around the narrow streets of
Stone Town where most of the houses date back more than 150 years. You will see
many bazaars, curios shops, restaurants, store selling souvenirs.
